Abstract

The Business Administration Department of Politeknik Negeri Manado still faces challenges in managing document, correspondence and bureaucratic processes which are still largely manual and fragmented, resulting in slow service, data may be lost at any time and lack of transparency in administrative management. Therefore, digital transformation is needed through the development of modern office applications that can integrate all administrative processes effectively. The purpose of this research is to design a web-based system that is able to support administration in the department, including incoming and outgoing mail management, electronic filing, schedules and administrative support. The method used in this research is Research & Development (R&D). Data collected through observations and interviews, and questionnaires to administrative staff and lecturer then analyzed to design application features that meet the needs of administrative staff. Based on the result obtained, crucial points needed for the development of application digitization are mail management, employee data management, scheduling and activity agenda and automatic notifications. These things will later be in the modern web application that will be developed.
