Abstract

This study explores the relationship between student perception and motivation regarding online learning in India, particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, which necessitated a rapid shift to digital education. Drawing on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Perception of Online Teaching and Learning (POSTOL) framework, the research employs a quantitative methodology, utilizing PLS-SEM to analyze data from 274 respondents, including students in traditional educational institutions and corporate training programs. The findings reveal a significant positive association between favorable perceptions of online learning and increased motivation to adopt online educational methods. This research contributes valuable insights for educational institutions and ed-tech companies seeking to enhance the effectiveness of online learning environments in India. The study emphasizes the importance of fostering positive perceptions and intrinsic motivation to ensure successful engagement with online learning platforms.
