Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Kaizen culture and work spirit on work productivity, with the work environment as a moderating variable, on employees of the weaving department of PT Golden Tekstil Indonesia. This study was motivated by the decline in production quality during January–November 2024 which was suspected to be related to low employee productivity. The method used was quantitative with the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) approach. The number of respondents was 85 people with a minimum work period of one year. The results showed that Kaizen culture and work spirit had a positive and significant effect on work productivity. Work spirit is the most dominant factor in increasing productivity, followed by Kaizen culture. Conversely, the work environment did not have a significant effect on productivity, either directly or as a moderating variable. The R2 and Q2 indicate that the model used has very good clarity and predictive ability. The conclusion of this study shows that increasing work productivity is more influenced by internal factors such as motivation and a positive work culture. Therefore, company management is advised to focus on strengthening the work spirit and Kaizen culture continuously. Evaluation of the work environment conditions is also still needed to support employee performance as a whole.
