Abstract

The increasing complexity of financial decisions and their broader economic implications has intensified scholarly interest in mindfulness-based approaches to enhance financial well-being. Despite this, prior reviews offer only a fragmented and outdated understanding of the field. This study addresses the gap by conducting a comprehensive bibliometric and content analysis of 138 articles indexed in the Web of Science between 2007 and 2024, focusing on financial literacy, mindfulness, and financial well-being. The bibliometric findings reveal a sharp increase in research output since 2020, with the United States, China, and India leading in publication volume. Jing Jian Xiao emerges as the most influential author, while the International Journal of Bank Marketing is identified as the most active journal in this domain. Cluster analysis of bibliographic coupling reveals five distinct research streams, reflecting the diverse directions of inquiry. Complementary content analysis of 50 high-quality publications highlights dominant and emerging themes, with a particular emphasis on the interplay between financial literacy, behavioral practices, and mindfulness. The study concludes by outlining key research gaps, suggesting future directions, and formulating research questions to guide prospective investigations.
