Abstract

The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of talent management strategies and knowledge sharing, particularly through skill enhancement, on the performance of employees at Bank Nagari’s Padang headquarters. The research methodology employed for this purpose was a survey, specifically focusing on the employee population at Bank Nagari’s Padang Headquarters. A sample size of 225 participants was chosen for the survey, and data collection was carried out through the distribution of questionnaires. To analyze the collected data, the AMOS Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique was utilized. The outcomes of the survey revealed significant correlations between talent management practices and employee performance, indicating that effective talent management positively impacts how employees perform. Furthermore, the survey found that knowledge sharing also plays a constructive role in enhancing employee performance. Notably, both talent management practices and knowledge-sharing activities have a favorable influence on the development of employees’ skills. Moreover, the study highlights the significance of skill development in mediating the effects of talent management practices and knowledge sharing on employee performance. In light of these findings, it is recommended that Bank Nagari’s Padang Headquarters reinforce its talent management strategies, with a particular emphasis on career advancement opportunities, bolstering the development of professional skills, and fostering in-person interactions to promote the sharing of knowledge among employees.
