The Effect of Emotional Intelligence on Burnout in Hospital Nurses: Mediating Effect of Job Stress

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze: (1) The effect of emotional intelligence on burnout in hospital nurses. Lubuk Basung. (2) The effect of emotional intelligence on job stress in hospital nurses. Lubuk Basung. (3) The effect of job stress on burnout at the hospital. Lubuk Basung. (4) Effect of emotional intelligence on job burnout of hospital nurses. Lubuk Basung through job stress. The population in this study consisted entirely of hospital nurses. Lubuk Basung which has 124 people. Meanwhile, In this study, a sample of 96 nurses using a proportionately clustered simple random sample. SEM analysis with intelligent PLS3 is the analysis method employed. The results of this study showed that: (1) Emotional intelligence has a significant negative impact on nurse burnout. Lubuk Basung. (2) Emotional intelligence has a significant negative effect on hospital job stress. Lubuk Basung. (3) Job stress has a significant positive effect on the tendency of burnout in hospital nurses. Lubuk Basung. (4) Emotional intelligence has a significant effect on burnout through job stress in hospital nurses. Lubuk Basung.
