Abstract

This study aims to examine how performance of West Sumatera-Indonesia police is affected by entrepreneurial orientation, such as inovation, proactive, and risk-taking. The West Sumatra Regional Police’s sector police chiefs (Kapolsek/ta) and unit heads (Kanit) at each Polsek/ta within its authority make up the study’s population. There are 496 sectors and units in total, and for this study, we selected at least 4 heads of population each sector. A minimum of 3 (three) Heads of Units (Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Head of Intelligence and Security Unit, and Head of Binmas Unit) were present in each Polsek/ta, along with 1 (one) Sector Police Chief. Probability sampling using a proportional stratified sampling strategy with 275 samples was the sampling technique employed in this study. This study employs SEM-PLS. The findings indicate that innovation has a favourable and significant impact on West Sumatra police performance. Proactiveness has also been shown to have a good and significant impact on West Sumatra police performance. Additionally, taking risks has impact on how well West Sumatra police perform. These findings can serve as a roadmap for West Sumatra police leadership to enhance the three aspects of entrepreneurial orientation innovation, proactiveness, and risk-taking courage which can enhance performance of West Sumatra Police.
