Digital Transformation in Regional Tax Payment in Southwest Papua Province

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how e-readiness the use of technology in optimizing regional taxes in Southwest Papu Province. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study research design. The data sources in this study are primary data and secondary data. Primary data based on the results of observations, interviews and documentation. This study was analyzed using the STOPE e-readiness assessment framework by Bakry (2004). This assessment framework consists of 5 components, namely strategy, technology, organization, people and environment. The results of the study show that the e-readiness of the use of technology in optimizing regional taxes in Southwest Papua Province still has weaknesses in several aspects. This is due to the fact that the implementation of the smartline application in the Regional Financial Revenue and Asset Management Agency (BPPKAD) has not been supported with good readiness. Organizational policy and management issues, as well as human resource development are still minimally carried out. This shows the need to make improvements to increase the readiness of the use of technology in the context of optimizing regional taxes in Southwest Papua Province.
