Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how the policies of PT Vale Indonesia’s CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) program with the Education Sector in East Luwu Regency. This study used a qualitative research method that used normative legal analysis with a statutory and conceptual literature approach. The data collection method was the help of electronic media (search in electronic media) by conducting qualitative data analysis. Data collection tools used were mass media, and electronic media according to the problems experienced by facts and real data, this study also uses interview data. The results of this study indicated that the collaboration program between PT. Vale Indonesia Tbk with the education office was the development of education, training, basic skills, and expertise through capacity-building activities for educators and youth and student education. By the time, CSR policies were very much needed by the community around the company’s location, because the resources currently owned by the company, namely efforts for equitable distribution and acceleration of development, need the support of resources from several parties. In addition to various social changes, the wealth of natural resources that have been very beneficial to the community will also be disrupted. If the natural resource wealth was not managed properly and beneficial to the community, the rejection of the company’s presence will continue to occur.
