Abstract

This study examines the key issues that Tesla faced during its digital transformation and how its successes can provide lessons for other companies. This issue is of great importance to the academic field as it reveals how digital technologies are reshaping business operating models and driving traditional industries towards intelligence. The research methodology includes case study, and an in-depth analysis of Tesla’s digital practices, focusing on key areas such as its Software Defined Vehicle (SDV), Autopilot technology, data management, and supply chain optimization. The results of the study show that Tesla has not only successfully improved user experience but also reshaped the competitive landscape of the industry by deeply integrating AI, big data and IoT technologies into product development and operations. However, the study also found that Tesla faces challenges in high R&D costs, data privacy compliance and supply chain stability. To address these issues, the study proposes solutions, including launching value-added subscription services, optimizing algorithms, building localized data storage centers, and reducing reliance on rare metals by adjusting battery composition. The study suggests that Tesla’s digital transformation experience provides a reference for other enterprises to practice innovation, and its successful path is of great academic and practical significance in promoting digital transformation and intelligent change.
