Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the communication skills of students majoring in online business and marketing through the implementation of Project Based Learning in the independent curriculum at SMKN 1 Kedawung. This research approach is qualitative with descriptive qualitative research type. Data collection techniques are observation, interview, and documentation. The analysis techniques in the research are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. Checking the validity of the data using the Triangulation Technique. The results showed that the implementation of project-based learning in the independent curriculum can improve the communication skills of students majoring in marketing and foster confidence in communication. The findings also show that teachers and students majoring in BDP at SMKN 1 Kedawung are able to implement project-based learning effectively on students’ communication skills and can adapt to curriculum changes that focus on studentcentred learning, especially in developing communication skills of students majoring in BDP.
