Abstract

This article examines the impact of tourism development on economic growth in Kunming City. By conducting a spatial analysis of the region’s tourism resources, social development factors, and policy frameworks, alongside a current state analysis grounded in the “Economic-Social-Ecological (ESE)” framework, this study underscores the positive contributions of Kunming’s tourism industry to economic development, job creation, and environmental protection, while also acknowledging existing challenges. Ultimately, the article recommends strategies to foster sustainable tourism development through innovation, diversification, and policy support, with the aim of achieving a harmonious balance among Kunming’s economic, social, and environmental objectives.
