Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Rural Income: A Study Based on CHARLS Data

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to discuss whether a series of measures during the epidemic have an impact on the income level of rural people, and if so, how much impact is there. This study could make up for the impact of hygiene on income that hasn’t been discussed in previous papers. This paper uses the existing CHARLS data of 2020 for analysis on Stata, so it is authoritative. The method for analyzing the data is to use regression to parse a correlation study. The conclusion is that two hygiene habits are strongly related to the income of the rural population, namely, avoiding gathering and wearing masks during the epidemic, in which the association of wearing masks is stronger (p
