Abstract

With the increasingly fierce competition in the pharmaceutical retail industry and the failure of medical reform to bring obvious “bonuses” to pharmacies, pharmaceutical retail enterprises have encountered new development opportunities with the aging population and the continuous innovation of new digital technologies. This article draws on the experience of large pharmaceutical companies in China and the United States in implementing digital transformation, offering a detailed analysis of the operational and managerial challenges faced by traditional pharmaceutical retail enterprises. Furthermore, it explores how digital tools and technologies can be leveraged to address these challenges, ultimately proposing strategies for the digital transformation of retail pharmaceutical companies. The aim is to provide both theoretical insights and practical recommendations to help pharmaceutical retail enterprises navigate industry challenges, enhance operational efficiency, improve customer experience, and drive industrial upgrading, thereby contributing to the sustainable and healthy development of the pharmaceutical industry.
