Abstract

The hospitality industry has undergone a transformation with the aggressive marketing and presence by online travel agencies (OTAs). This paper examines the influence of OTA partnerships on home stay operations in Lake Region of Nainital, Uttarakhand. The surveys have been done with questionnaire as a tool along with secondary data from OTA platforms and booking statistics for the owners and then for the guest’s satisfaction. These data’s analyses key metrics for both Guest and owners. The Results have displayed that OTA-listed Homestays experienced a drastic increase in occupancy and simultaneously enhancement in profitability. The findings and conclusions have stressed on the need for balanced strategies that combine OTA partnerships with direct booking efforts. The Recommendations of the paper are to encourage use of brand,com for direct booking. The in-house guest satisfaction study is based on SERVIQUAL Model. This study will contribute to the literature on OTA impacts in the Nainital lake region.
