Nexus between Financial Technology, Financial Literacy, and Self-control on The Consumptive Behavior of Online Shopping Among Productive Age

Abstract

The city of Bandung is included in the province of West Java, which is popular as the Flower City and Paris Van Java, or the city of shopping. The city of Bandung has a high level of consumption, causing a high level of consumptive behavior in the tier 1 position representing West Java. In addition, it has the highest level of online lending in Indonesia with the aim of fulfilling one’s lifestyle. Therefore, this study focuses on financial technology, financial literacy, and self-control in consumptive behavior at a productive age in Bandung City. This research is to analyze the relationship between financial technology, financial literacy, self-control, and consumptive behavior. This research was conducted using quantitative methods with multiple linear regression analysis techniques. Data was collected through questionnaire results, with a sample of 400 respondents from Bandung City’s productive-age population. This study shows that financial technology has no significant effect on consumptive behavior. Financial literacy has a significant effect on consumptive behavior. Self-control has no significant effect on consumptive behavior. Simultaneously or jointly, financial technology, financial literacy, and self-control have a significant effect on consumptive behavior.
