Abstract

After the nuclear accident at Fukushima nuclear power plant, the Japanese government and Tokyo Electric Power Company boldly used ADR mechanism in the compensation process, and achieved good results. This measure can be said to provide a good reference model for China to apply ADR in the field of nuclear damage compensation in the future. This paper will focus on the origin, process and effect of ADR application in the field of nuclear damage compensation in Japan, deeply compare the differences between ADR and litigation system in nuclear damage compensation, and summarize the advantages of ADR in nuclear damage compensation, in order to provide valuable and meaningful reference for China to introduce ADR into the field of nuclear damage compensation.
