Abstract

Poverty is a condition of a person or group of people who are unable to meet food or non-food needs, opportunities to fulfill other needs; such as, self-esteem, health, freedom, and a decent life. In addition, it is one of the main complex problems in Indonesian economy. The purpose of this study is that to determine and analyze the effect of the Construction Cost Index, Human Development Index, Purchasing Power Parity, and Dependency Ratio on Poverty Levels in South Sumatera Province in 2010–2020. The analytical method used was panel data regression with Pooled Least Square (PLS) approach, Fixed Effect Model (FEM), and Random Effect Model (REM). The result of this study shows that the Human Development Index (HDI) variable and the Dependency Ratio variable have a positive and significant influence on the Poverty Level in South Sumatera Province.
