Research on high-quality development countermeasures of modern metropolitan area

Abstract

By February 2022, the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan (Chang-Zhu-Tan) urban circle has become the fourth national urban circle approved to be established in the central region of China. However, the development has been slow, the allocation of resources among the cities is unbalanced, the economic aggregate and industrial development are very different, and the process of urbanization still needs to be improved urgently, although the integration development of Chang-Zhu-Tan region has been going on for more than 30 years. In this study, I am going to make the use of desk research method to collect and analyze data concerning the development of the Chang-Zhu-Tan urban circle and development experience of other metropolitan areas at home and abroad. The objective of the study is to find some existing problems and barriers of high-quality development of modern metropolitan areas and then propose countermeasures to these problems. Thus the Chang-Zhu-Tan metropolitan area can be built into a unique and attractive modern metropolitan area, which will better promote the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the central region.
