Trade Policies and Competitiveness in the Electric Vehicle Market

The global electric vehicle (EV) industry is growing very fast, and China and the United States are the two most important players. This paper focuses on the policies, market systems, and industrial strength that shape EV development in both countries. China follows a centralized, long-term plan. The government sets national goals, assigns production targets, and gives local support to factories and charging projects.
