Abstract

This study examines how artificial intelligence (AI) can be incorporated into the creation and administration of collections in academic, public, and special libraries. 32 library professionals were surveyed using a structured questionnaire to gauge their knowledge, education, opinions, and present usage of AI tools. ANOVA and crosstabulation were two statistical techniques used to examine the connections between AI-related variables and library type. The results show that although people’s fundamental understanding of AI is fairly consistent, there are notable variations in training options and perceived difficulties, with academic libraries being given preference. Participation in AI workshops and the difficulties encountered during implementation were found to be strongly correlated with the type of library. To close the gap in AI adoption, the findings emphasize the necessity of focused training and assistance, particularly in public and special libraries. This study advances knowledge of strategic planning and institutional preparedness for the integration of AI in library services.
