Where are the World’s Top 100 I.T. Firms and Why?

Abstract

Radical advances in technology can dislodge established regions or nations from the top ranks of wealth and power. In the late 19th century, Britain famously lost its lead to Germany and the U.S. when the key sectors in the world economy shifted from steam power and textiles to electricity and chemicals. Whatever Britain had done right in the earlier era, it was no longer enough, after about 1870, to keep the first industrial nation ahead of its newcomer rivals.
