Abstract

The issue of violence has become a central concern in the Ivorian education system. Strikes by pupils and students often result in acts of vandalism of common property. Faced with this worrying situation, the actors of the educational community are looking for sustainable and adapted solutions to pacify the school, the ideal place for training tomorrow’s citizens and decision makers. In this sense, civic commitment is one of the safe ways to curb the phenomenon of school and university violence. In the same way, associative life is a ferment for social cohesion, social mixing and the spirit of solidarity. These values contribute to the fight against the rise of religious radicalism among young people in Africa. Thus, as a faith-based association, the Young Catholic Students (YCS) has for many years been proposing innovative solutions for peace education at school. Its initiatives undeniably contribute to a lasting peace.
