Robotic Process Automation – Current State, Expectations and Challenges

Abstract

The paper presents the definitions, potential and the future impact of Robotic Process Automation (RPA), automated execution of business processes using special applications called software robots. It compares the emergence of RPA to automatization of manufacturing industry showing their similarities and differences. The deployment of RPA in Polish banks is presented as distinctive area of RPA deployment. At the last part of the paper the potential impact of RPA in BPO services supplied by CEE countries is discussed.
