Abstract

The study examines the relationship between health system performance and economic performance in EU countries, with an impact on financial transparencyFinancial transparency. The analysis focuses on how recessions affect the medical and economic sectors, highlighting the link between improved medical services and economic stability. It uses geospatial analysis through spatial econometrics and artificial intelligence (AI) to correlate economic and medical data, revealing the effects of major economic events on medical providers from 2007 to 2019, including the 2008 crisis. Complex econometric models, such as the Generalized Method of Moments and the Spatial Durbin Model,Spatial Durbin Model detect trends and anomalies. Starting from a prototype spatio-temporal analysis of the health systems-economies relationship at the EU level, an integrated AI-based methodology is proposed to scale and analyze the complex multidimensional connections between health systems, economic performance, and financial transparencyFinancial transparency. Both econometrics and AI seek interpretability to explain how data characteristics influence predictions, even if this may affect accuracy. Explainable AI (XAI) techniques aim to improve the transparency of complex models. The findings show how financial transparency can support more efficient health systems, contributing to a more robust and resilient economy.
