Abstract

This chapter will be written with both a practitioner and academic audience in mind. The cryptoasset marketplace continues to develop and innovate in a number of ways, with the continued investment into the space by traditional financial institutions supporting greater adoption and integration. The first part of this chapter will focus on providing an analysis of the current cryptoasset marketplace, including the range of products and services that are offered, as well as how the financial reporting and disclosures around these assets have continued to develop. Following this a discussion around the types of artificial intelligence (AI) will be presented, with a focus on generative AI background and examples. Subsequent to these analyses, the ways in which AI can—and will—influence the crypto issuance, reporting, and compliance environments will be presented. Finally, forecasts and predictions as to how the merger of AI and cryptoasset innovation will influence future crypto developments will be presented.
