My Lucky Year

Abstract

The 1952 was my lucky year, even though I was hit by a car in central Melbourne. I met Dorothy at a social club, and we were married in London in 1957. Later, we lived in Melbourne, Canberra, Oxford, and Washington DC. And in 1952, I was also lucky to be informed about a scholarship to Britain, and the opportunity to study at the London School of Economics (LSE). This led eventually to my transformation into an internationally known academic.
