Abstract

European Corporate Strategy: Heading for 2000 can by no means pretend to be an exhaustive evaluation of the state of Europe’s companies, large and small. However, the glimpse given does allow some insight into the challenges and opportunities being faced across the European continent, be it in Scandinavia, The Netherlands or Portugal, among the most important of which are: the elimination of the traditional competitive advantages, such as protected access to technology and markets; an ever more sophisticated and international consumer; and European deregulation.
