Abstract

Associated Biscuit Manufacturers Limited (ABM) was the second largest biscuit company in the United Kingdom. In 1970 the consolidated sales of the company were £53.7 million, of which £32.8 million were produced by the manufacture and sale of biscuits from the company’s British factories, £19.1 million from overseas subsidiaries and the remaining £1.8 million were accounted for by a wholly-owned subsidiary engaged in light engineering, producing tins principally for the packaging of biscuits. Exhibit 1 and 2 present financial information about the company, taken from the 1970 annual report.
