Abstract

Although human resource management is an area much less involved than most in environmental protection, it is here that long-term, significant preconditions are created for the effectiveness of environmental management in a company. This is true not only in terms of the qualification requirements set when selecting and promoting personnel, but also in terms of other personnel management activities — from motivating staff via the preparation of appropriate collective wage agreements to cooperation with employee representatives. Empirical results show, however, that the integration of environmental protection into personnel management has not yet progressed very far.
