Abstract

The strength of the Swiss financial market can no longer be based, at least not to the same extent as in the past, on the fact that the Swiss franc is the strongest currency in the world and that, as a corollary, Swiss interest rates are the lowest. Neither will banking secrecy and political stability be enough to make the Swiss financial market attractive. It will be obliged, like all the others, to fight for survival on the basis of the quality of its services. In order to have a good chance of success in this fight, it must be able to count on legal and fiscal systems that are competitive internationally.
