Abstract

Every employee has a contract of employment with his/her employer. You cannot be an employee without having an employment contract. It is an important agreement between the two parties where the employee provides working skills for which the employer pays a wage/salary. Although an employer does not have to put the terms of contract in writing for them to be legally binding, it is preferable to do so within 13 weeks of the employee commencing work.
