Abstract

Why have so many Japanese companies come to Britain? What part have British executives played in this process, and what attracted them to join a Japanese start-up business? What was the background of these executives, how were they recruited, and how did their friends and families react at their new career move? How influential were these British executives in early decision-making and subsequently, and how much contact did they have with Head Office in Japan? What do they feel about their role in these companies today?
