Soviet-Finnish Economic Cooperation: Significance for the National Economy of Both Countries

Abstract

The growth of world productivity, the strengthening of the advantages of the international division of labour, the scientific and technological revolution going on-all this promotes the continuing internationalization of economic life and objectively demands the development of international ties in economics and in science. Artificial limitation of these ties threatens to slow down the growth of national production, to bring down its technical level. Consequently, during the past years, the role of international economic cooperation has increased between capitalist and socialist nations. This cooperation, founded on the principle of mutual advantage, promotes the development of the scientific, technical and economic potential of each of the cooperating sides. The result of such cooperation is economy of human and material resources, amelioration of production organization, and an increase of productivity.
