Abstract

Growth and diversification were the two trends which best described German industry from 1950 to 1970. As the statistics compiled for this study have shown, there were few companies which did not undergo some change in their strategy or organisation. In this chapter we look at typical strategies of individual companies, and analyse the effect of environmental and other influences on strategy.
