The Application of Confucianism to Establish Creativity and Innovation

Abstract

It is not surprising that even some business giants such as Nokia, Kodak and BlackBerry can lose their market position overnight. Change occurs so quickly that we almost forget that these companies were once pioneers in their fields. It sometimes feels like we should invent a magical device such as the one in Harry Potter to go back in time. However, in the real world, rather than attempt to freeze time, organizations need to adapt to change through continuous innovation and creativity. This should not be limited to capabilities or new products: innovation must become a kind of spirit that is integral to an organization’s culture. A supportive working environment allows and encourages innovation.
