Abstract

Fig 11.1 Doekle Terpstra In this chapter we look at how a tradition of wisdom can inspire and help leaders to do their job. We talked to Doekle Terpstra (born 1956), who has held positions of leadership for the past 25 years and was willing to share his thoughts and experience with us. Doekle has been Chair of Inholland University of Applied Sciences since 2010. Prior to that, from January 1999 to April 2005, he was at the helm of the Christian Trade Union Federation and, from May 2005 to November 2010, he was Chair of the Netherlands Association of Universities of Applied Sciences. Between 2009 and 2013 he was also president of the Royal Dutch Skating Federation.
