Abstract

Imagine you are visiting Chicago for the first time. You head straight to the Skydeck on the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower, the tallest skyscraper in the city. At the Skydeck, you ask four people at random to have a look and share their definition of Chicago with you. The first person may look to the north and define Chicago as being affluent pointing out the beautiful suburbs and parks. The second person may look east, to the famous shores of Lake Michigan and describe Chicago as being all about recreation, sailing and playing volleyball on the beaches. The third person may peer to the south and define Chicago as being poor and dangerous pointing out the ghettos and gangs. And, the fourth person may look to the west and define Chicago as being industrial describing the numerous factories and plants.
