Abstract

Social order builds upon reciprocity and representativity. Reciprocity tells us about external quid pro quos. It is a derivative of the conditions of dependence between organizations. Representativity informs us about the capacity of organizations to act as authoritative identities. Authoritative identity derives from a shared sense of direction, both in the eyes of the members and in the perception of an organization’s counterparts. Representativity is a derivative of the conditions of reciprocity inside organizations, that is, a function of the relations of dependence between the members of organizations and associations.
