Abstract

Man has for long wanted to have music readily available when there was a desire to listen to it. In the old days, the rich and powerful could always order or hire someone to do this in person. As for the others, well, either you attended a concert, did your own thing, or maybe, whistled to yourself. This, however, changed in 1877 when Thomas Alva Edison invented the cylinder phonograph.
