Abstract

Innovation is everywhere, it always has been, and it is becoming continuously more apparent to the everyday consumer. Moreover, 43 percent of respondents in Capgemini Consulting’s Global Innovation survey1 in 2012 indicated they have someone appointed as chief innovation executive or innovation manager, compared to 33 percent who made this response in 2010. Also, 76 percent of executives indicated that innovation is among the top three priorities of their organization and the main lever for growth. It is apparent that companies are increasingly putting more emphasis on innovation; however, what does innovation really mean?
