Abstract

Dr. Jürgen Heraeus, chairman of the board of directors at Heraeus Holding, gives an account here of how the most important aspects of leadership, control, and family structures are implemented in his company. Heraeus is a globally active precious metal and technology group based in Hanau, near Frankfurt in Germany. The company has been family-owned for more than 160 years. With more than 12,200 employees, H e r a e u s generated p r o d u c t revenues of €4.2 billion and precious metals trading revenue of €16 billion in 2012.**
