Abstract

Founded in 1996 from a management buy-out with approximately 50 employees, AFAS develops and sells an integrated ERP software package called Profit ERP. Besides their headquarters in Leusden, AFAS also has offices in Belgium and Curacao. Their mission is to develop an integrated, scalable, and modern ERP solution that supports customers in increasing the efficiency of their business processes. AFAS focuses specifically on efficiency and cost savings. AFAS is a transparent company, both toward their employees and their customers. Serving all sizes of companies, from small to large organizations, AFAS has one clear goal: becoming the market leader in the Netherlands in the ERP and payroll markets. AFAS is a family business, with the purpose to serve customers with a ‘complete, standard, flexible and integrated software’ package. The AFAS software, which already serves more than 10,000 customers, has been a source of steady growth from the start of the company in terms of revenue, profit, and employees. That this growth development shows no signs of slowing can be seen from Figures 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3.
