Abstract

The global crisis has had varying regional impacts. The damaging impact of this crisis has for the most part been observed in the US and the European Union (EU) whereas its impact elsewhere has been smaller, the least of which has been observed in the Asian emerging economies. The crisis was initiated in and left a significant negative impact on the private financial sector in the US; while, in the EU, it affected mainly the public financial sector.
