Abstract

Over the past several years, building a green economy has increasingly become a priority for numerous governments, private companies, nonprofit organizations, and other entities throughout the world. This diverse interest in green economic development has arisen from the belief that a greener economy will yield economic, ecological, and social benefits for all stakeholders. In Minnesota, interest in developing the state’s green economy also has increased in recent years. Diverse stakeholders have joined together in various partnerships to enhance different elements of the green economy in the state. Growing the green economy in Minnesota is seen as an opportunity to promote economic development, create jobs, benefit the environment, and improve the standard of living.
