Abstract

Some of the empiricalconcl usions of this work are specific to the patterns and determinants of FDI already studied in detail. Whilst these FDI flows have some significance in themselves, there is a more general relevance in that the conclusions are especially important for the analysis of FDI benefits in the context of the economic and investment policies of transitional economies. This chapter summarises the major findings, underlines conclusions that are of general significance, discusses the limitations of the study, outlines the economic policy implications and recommends further research areas.
