Growing Family Breakdown in Asia

Abstract

Asia is having smaller families, smaller households, and more divorce. The number of single-person households is growing as is the number of single-parent families. This is the case in East Asia from China to Singapore. Apart from the social implications, this has important business implications, from how marketing is targeted to how the real estate sector should respond to changing household sizes.
