Abstract

In the 1950s China established research institutes with Soviet expertise and aid. Fundamental technologies including energy supply and utilization technologies such as cutting machines, heating furnaces, small boilers, and blast furnaces were developed to support domestic economic growth. The first 125 MW power generator was made by Harbin Electric Motor Factory in the early 1960s. Since then, China has made significant progress in technology development, including development of basic energy utilization equipment and energy conversion equipment.
