Abstract

All those concerned with the well-being and mental health of people need to be aware of the broader business environment and the changes taking place that are likely to put additional pressure on people. This chapter will help to explain why the management of stress has had to move higher up the priority list of most organizations. Occupational health, training, and personnel specialists will all benefit from understanding the business context. It will also provide a useful introduction for managers seeking to manage the stress of others.
