Abstract

This chapter draws on the findings and conclusions from the research presented in the previous chapters to present a perspective on succession amongst Asian family firms. The approach constantly adopted in this book has been to understand the interaction of business, family (both immediate and wider) and the co-ethnic community in the context of family business succession. The countries identified for this research represent the Asian community in different stages of settlement and development which is an important part of the debate on family business survival and in particular the involvement of the younger generation from migrant-ethnic communities.
